As a member of the ArtPadel team, every time I see the rows of transparent glass barriers on the courts, I know it's much more than just "aesthetically pleasing."
We chose 12mm tempered glass, measuring 1995mm x 2995mm, in sets of 18. This size perfectly matches the layout of standard paddle tennis court barriers, ensuring both unobstructed visibility and securely trapping high-speed balls.
The tapered holes are key. Each glass panel has eight holes for secure installation with specialized clamps. Paddle tennis demands extremely high barrier rigidity; the barrier cannot loosen even slightly upon impact. These holes are precisely machined before tempering, with minimal error—because once tempering is complete, any secondary processing would render the entire panel unusable.
Safety is our bottom line. The specifications include a shotgun impact test, simulating the scenario of a racket or ball colliding with the barrier at high speed. The standard requires fragments to be blunt-angled particles to prevent athletes from being cut by sharp edges upon falling. Compliant with Chinese national standard GB 15763.2-2005, and certified by European standard EN12150-1 and CE, with a surface stress ≥69MPa—meaning the glass maintains high strength even under harsh outdoor conditions.
Fine edge grinding is equally important, protecting installers' hands and reducing the risk of spontaneous breakage from micro-cracks at the edges.
